oops

i knew i'd do this- i totally misfiled a picture!
i wore this to my brother's rehearsal dinner- evening before the wedding- d'oh! with a picture a day, being one off was bound to happen eventually... my apologies. however! i have been remembering to take pictures of my bags with my outfits. woohoo!

statement sequins? yes, please!

mod cloth dress and massino shoes. hand me down clutch (or small tote, as you see here). this dress makes me wish i had purple shoes...

day 46

LOVE this gifted purple bag and target top, because the purse has a bit of a surprise inside...

woohoo! red inside. the shoes i'm wearing are red, too, but for some reason they came out really dark in this picture. they're Steve Madden mary janes.

day 47
proud of loud.

thrifted flags shirt, white/black pants, red cowgirl boots, and one. loud. purse.

yep, it's solid silver canvas with multicolored differently sized plastic jewels. go big, or go home, as Dolly says. i got this from the gift shop in the art gallery i worked in after college. ridiculous? yes. unnecessary? yes. and it's one of my favorites. people either love it or hate it, but naturally, it's my love of it that matters. <3

day 48
ever wanted a shirt that looks like newspaper? well i did, and i found one. woohoo!

paired with kiss purse, mary janes, and a red necklace from M. it's a carved wooden piece with some characters in it, as you can see. i have no idea what this symbol means... if anyone knows, please tell me! she has one that matches it.

 muah!

also, science experiment alert! the bracelet i'm wearing was my grandmother's. it's a very simple, thin silver cuff. it very old and was rather tarnished, and i read online that one can polish silver with toothpaste. well, guess what? IT WORKS! i was skeptical, but tried it, and it worked perfectly! shiny 65 year old cuff? check.

closet challenge moves along...

day 41
still not cold. what on earth is going on?
express top, massino mary janes, vintage black and silver half moons.

day 42- red ruffles
i'm glad i keep at sweater at work, because this top is a little too chesty. i love the peek out red, and it made it a little more conservative. worn it with black wedges. and i keep forgetting to include my bags in my shots- sorry!

day 43
this is the most oddly shaped top i own, and i adore it. it's flouncy on top and then fitted to rest just around your hips. it does make me look at little bigger than i am, and my bunny doesn't much care for it, but it's so unique, i adore it. and the color, too! this pic is a little dark, but it's a deep blue like i love. and Betty Boop purse and red rockin' cowgirl boots.

day 44
Marilyn Monroe t-shirt- i absolutely adore this top. you can't go wrong with the queen.

i even used it on a photo shoot i styled!

my brother's wedding

we got pictures back! yay!

i do not think i have ever had so much fun in all my life as i did at my brother's wedding. everyone was beautiful, happy to be there, and it was a gorgeous day.

here's a shot of my bridesmaid's dress going down the aisle, accompanied by the very steady and handsome Roux (guess who the crier was during the ceremony? ME. nice.) who had to keep me from falling.

i love this dress. the bride did such a great job picking them out. the color was so pretty (teaberry) and the waist detailing matched the tea length detailing on her dress. here's a shot of the back.

so pretty! and it was very comfortable. we also had handmade jewelry courtesy of m. florita jewelry. she made necklaces and earrings for the bride, bridesmaids, and flower girls!

look how sweet and happy they are!

<3

here's the front of her dress and the ladies. yes, TEN bridesmaids. and one was 8 months pregnant!

you can see her feathers better in this one and also the detailing on her dress that matched that of the bridesmaids' dresses.

my mom and brother danced to Thriller for their mother son dance. seriously. it was Awesome.

that's how we roll.

we had so much fun. there was dancing, eating, drinking, friends, family, and all. i cannot tell you how wonderful it was.

what a night!

do you want the truth or something beautiful?

in this case, i'll take the beauty.

for those of you who don't know, this is Paloma Faith. she's my newest style icon. LOVE HER. she is  a British actress and singer/songwriter, who's first album Do You Want the Truth or Something Beautiful? came out earlier this year. not only is she an absolute doll, with quirky dark carnival style that i love..

her album ROCKS. it's freakin' awesome. you might recognize one track "stone cold sober" as used by Rimmel London in a few commercials. and you may recognize her as Sally in The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus, the devil's girlfriend- and even cooler if you haven't seen it, the devil is played by none other than Tom Waits, another on my very short list of faves.

she's beautiful, talented, smart, and witty. Tim Burton would love this girl.

we all know i adore a redhead.

she rocks retro looks, statement hats, and Westwood shoes. even love the font in on this. and she loves balloons!

and yes. this is a mirror dress. amazing.

butterfly!

day 39

i cannot tell you how much i adore this top. it's so sparkly. so vintage. so wonderfully ridiculous. i got it from Sabrosa Vintage, they have great stuff.

power butterfly!

also, on an unrelated note, thank you to our veterans, happy Veterans Day everyone, and happy birthday to my brother Joel! :)

day 36 and a few more.

day 29

this is from the International Bluegrass Music Association Awards back in september. this vintage pleated piece was a great find at a shop here in town, Local Honey

the earrings i wore are covered by my hair in this picture, but here they are....

back on track - day 36.

it is STILL warm. this blue criss-cross number was a gift from Larae, and is one of my favorite colors. with my red hair and very pale skin, this color works well on me.

day 37
we got a hair of a cold snap- enough to wear this Ann Taylor sweater with black ribbon top.  a certain someone decided to sneak into the picture...

for those of you who like cats, that is my sweet girl Luna.

she's VERY fashionable. ;)

here's a detail of the tree ring i'm wearing, as well.

day 38

this shirt was a gift from my friend La Bonqua, and says, "Love is Blind." she got this for me because of my bunny. for those of you who don't know, Bunny has a degenerative eye disease called retinitis pigmentosa. we are very active with Foundation Fighting Blindness to help raise awareness and money for research for Bunny's disorder and others, such as macular degeneration and Usher Syndrome. for Bunny's 25th birthday, we threw a big bash and raised money for his condition.

also, i'm lucky enough to live within walking distance of the grocery store, and this canvas bag is one i got in Germany that i use for shopping and sometimes as a purse. it says, "protect our environment." i love the little hearts!
